Our goal at Bachata House is to continue spreading the love for bachata in Copenhagen through teaching everyone from new to advanced dancers in a fun and engaging way.
At Bachata House, we are proud to be true ‘bachata nerds’, training and teaching all styles of bachata, reaching from the fun & playful Traditional bachata to the smooth & artistic Sensual bachata.
With us, high quality classes are guaranteed, and you can get all the advice and inspiration that you need for your dancing, no matter what style of bachata you like or what level you are dancing at.

ABOUT BACHATA
Bachata is growing worldwide, and Denmark is no exception! Especially during the last five years, bachata has become one of the most popular Latin dances in Copenhagen, even rivalling the popular salsa.
Bachata is a Latin dance that focuses on fluidity of movement and connection between dancers and music. It is characterized by its sensual and smooth style and a close connection between the dancers, while at the same time offering a stylistic freedom of accentuated movements, styling and more.
Bachata originated in the rural neighbourhoods of the Dominican Republic where it grew out of a tumultuous shift from dictatorship, censorship, and cultural degradation. From its humble origins, it has grown to become one of the most popular Latin dances in recent years and has rapidly spread across the globe.
There are many sub-genres of bachata: Traditional, Fusion, Modern, Sensual etc. and they are all complementary to each other. At Bachata House, our starting point is the Sensual Bachata (the most popular sub-genre in Europe), but we mix with elements from all styles to get the most creative and musical dancing.
MEET THE TEAM
Bachata House is made up of a team of passionate bachateros. We love dancing and sharing our passion for the amazing bachata through teaching. We see teaching as a separate discipline; for us, it is not enough to be a good dancer to teach.
At Bachata House, we offer only the highest quality dancing & teaching.
KATINKA
Katinka has been teaching salsa and bachata since 2014, and has been an essential part in shaping the Copenhagen bachata community. She has been teaching and performing bachata all over Europe in the biggest bachata events and festivals, and in 2020 she co-founded Bachata House with Erik.
Katinka’s dancing style is characterized by smooth and sensual body movements combined with modern and creative lady styling. As an instructor, she creates a fun environment while constantly pushing her students to become the best dancers they can be.
ERIK
Erik started teaching salsa in 2014, and within a few years became one of the pioneers of bachata in Copenhagen. In addition to teaching in Copenhagen, Erik has been teaching and performing bachata all over Europe in the biggest bachata events and festivals, and in 2020 he co-founded Bachata House with Katinka.
Erik is known for his unique musicality and creativity in his dancing combined with a clear and comfortable lead. In his teaching, he focuses on giving his students both technique and creative inspiration in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
SOPHIE
Sophie has been dancing from an early age and has become a versatile dancer through her experience with many different styles from jazz and hiphop to dancehall and musical theater. In 2019, she discovered her passion for bachata and in 2023 she lived in Barcelona, learning from the best dancers and instructors in the world.
Sophie’s dance style is influenced by all the various styles from her background and she enjoys combining urban styles with elegant lines in her styling.
As an instructor, Sophie’s goal is to inspire and build confidence in her students and give them the tools to find their own style while creating a fun and safe learning space.
DANIEL
Daniel started dancing salsa in 2014 and discovered his big passion for bachata a few years after. Daniel has been teaching bachata at various workshops and schools since 2020 before joining Bachata House in 2022.
Daniel’s dance style is centered around sensual bachata with a clear and smooth lead, while he enjoys spicing his dances up with elements from traditional dominican bachata. As an instructor Daniel is focused on creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and to quickly give the students a broad variety of simple elements to use socially rather than big complicated figures.
NATALIA

ASH
Ash started dancing kizomba in 2019 and started with bachata shortly after. He has been trained by Erik & Katinka while traveling to bachata festivals and congresses all over the world, giving him the tools to develop his own style of dancing and teaching. He has also participated in 2 competitions, achieving 1st place in Bachata King Festival 2022 in Kos, Greece and 2nd place in the Rising Stars Competition 2023 in Amsterdam with Andrea.
Ash’s dancing is characterized by the urban spark he adds to his sensual bachata background. The result is a modern and edgy style mixed with the traditional elegance of sensual bachata. As an instructor, Ash gives his students the tools to find their own style, through a combination of technique, creativity and a safe learning space.
