There is a description of the level under each class in here WEEKLY CLASSES & SIGN UP. If you are in doubt about your level, please ask an instructor, or send an email to bachatahousecph@gmail.com, and we will try to guide you in the right direction.
For Intermediate 2 and Advanced there is a screening, so you need a green light from an instructor to sign up. You can get that from your instructor at your current course (talk with them in a break or after class). If you are not a current Bachata House student, the easiest way is to go to a Bachata House Sunday Social or event and talk with one of the instructors there.
If you or your instructor decides that the level you are signed up for is not the right one for you, we can transfer your sign up to another course, as long as there are spaces available. If there are no free spaces, you will receive a refund for the classes you have left of the course.
At Bachata House we care a lot about ensuring high quality teaching and learning in our classes, and to do this, taking classes at the right level is crucial. This means that if an instructor assesses that the level you are signed up for is not the right for you, we reserve the right to change your sign up to another level – if you are not able to join the recommended class, we will refund you for the remaining classes
No, we do not reserve spots for future seasons. You can sign up here WEEKLY CLASSES & SIGN UP as soon as we announce the new season (usually 3-4 weeks in advance of season start)
No you do not need a partner to join our classes. Bachata is a social dance, so the classes are structured around partner rotation, to make sure you try the moves with as many partners as possible.
No, it is only possible to sign up for a full season as we are always balancing leaders and followers for the entire season in our classes
Bachata is a social dance, so in Bachata House we structure our classes around partner rotation. In this way, you learn how to dance with everyone on the dance floor – and it’s a great way to meet new people :)
If you want to dance with only your partner anyway, that is also OK – just let your teacher know :)
For dancing it is important that you feel comfortable. So we recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and indoor shoes for the classes.
If you own dance shoes, feel free to wear them, but they are not a requirement.
If you want recommendations for dance clothes and shoes, you are always welcome to ask one of our teachers for tips :)
Yes, we know, it’s not a question, but it is very important nonetheless ;)
We are standing very close for the duration of the class, and bad hygiene can be quite uncomfortable for your dance partner.
SO! Come fresh, showered and with a clean mouth and/or a chewing gum – no one wants to smell your lunch ;)
If you come straight from work or school, and don’t have time to shower, a fresh t-shirt and a deodorant can go a long way to making the dance more comfortable for your dance partner. Nobody says it like El Tiguere: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10153756314628540
For weekly classes, refunds can be given upon request up to 10 days before the start of the course. After that, refunds will not be given, but you can change the name of the reservation free of charge (remember, a leader spot cannot be sold to a follower, and the other way around). If you wish to get a refund, please send us an e-mail at bachatahousecph@gmail.com.
For events, workshops, socials etc, no refunds will be given. You can change the name of the reservation for a fee of 50DKK (remember, a leader spot cannot be sold to a follower, and the other way around).
In our weekly classes, it has to be the same person attending the entire course.
Each course at Bachata House is progressive, meaning that we build each class on what has been taught in previous classes during season. As such it is not possible to pass your attendance of individual classes to someone else.
It is however possible to change the name of a reservation before the course starts (the same rules for level and screening apply). The same goes for workshops and other events.
